A million times yes!!!
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve wished my friends knew ASL when it was crowded and loud… And yes, getting to meet and communicate with people in the Deaf community is such an amazing thing!
In Canada there are two legitimate Sign languages: American Sign Language (ASL) and la Langue des Signes Quebecoise (LSQ); there is also a regional dialect, Maritimes Sign Language (MSL).

This is huge deal in Deaf community and the change that we all must have. This is not the end yet—we still need 9,264 signatures to reach 25,000 by December 12, 2012. C’mon y’all! Please sign this petition to recognize ASL as a full and complete language!(it’s already been shown to be one linguistically and culturally, now we need to get the government/schools to catch up with science. Go figure.)
